The Prime Minister's Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC), in its 21st meeting, approved the setup of a National One Health Mission — a cross-ministerial initiative to coordinate, support, and integrate all existing One Health activities in the country. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) serves as the implementing agency, with an approved SFC amount of ₹383.83 Crores for R&D and coordination.
Following the second Scientific Steering Committee meeting (15th April 2025) chaired by the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, it was recommended that ICMR/DHR organize a dissemination event and initiate community awareness programs in collaboration with academic institutions.
Aligned with these recommendations, the Division of Communicable Diseases (ICMR HQ) will host the National One Health Conclave on 20th–21st November 2025. The conclave will bring together ministries, departments, academicians, and experts to highlight India’s leadership under the National One Health Mission, showcasing research and multisectoral collaboration to strengthen health security and sustainability.
Youth participation from various states will be a major focus — inspiring awareness, innovation, and ownership among the next generation of One Health advocates and champions.
